We are excited to announce our Teacher opening for our Secaucus residential program! The Teacher’s main responsibility is to help educate clients enrolled in educational services for GED certification training and testing, ensuring the clients comprehend the course content. The Teacher is expected to prepare coursework, plan lessons and assignments, and instruct course content.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of a Teacher:

  • Create course curriculum and lessons that are appropriate to the grade level and subject matter
  • Deliver instruction and tailor classroom activities in accordance with program requirements
  • Refer students to appropriate resources related to personal issues
  • Track and report client grades and attendance regularly and accurately in accordance with regulations
  • Assist clients with personal and professional development goals
  • Build rapport with clients to address concerns and monitor learning growth areas
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on operational/agency needs

Qualifications for a Teacher:

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience

Required Licensing or Certifications:

  • New Jersey Teaching Certificate in Mathematics (K-12)
  • New Jersey Teaching Certificate in Special Education

Specialized Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: 

  • Strong educational planning and organizational ability
  • Good listener
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of security, fire, and life-safety standards
  • Familiarity with State and Federal Core Curriculum Content Standards

Work Schedule: This is a non-exempt position and typical work hours. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the core work hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and must work expected hours.

Since 1968, Integrity House has provided comprehensive and compassionate addiction treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders. Physical/Medical Requirements: Before hire, candidates shall be required to show documentation for a negative TB skin test and positive titers for the MMR. Candidates will also be required to undergo SUD pre-boarding requirements, including drug testing, fingerprinting, and a physical exam.
