We are excited to announce our Children’s Coordinator opening in Newark, NJ! The Children’s Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the children of the Residential Program for Pregnant and Postpartum Women (PPW) participants are engaged in safe, healthy, and productive educational or recreational activities while their parents participate in individual treatment or support services.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of a Children’s Coordinator

  • Support the clinical operations of the program by engaging the children of the adult participants in safe, healthy, and productive educational/recreational activities while the parent engages in treatment.
  • Support parents through case management services in identifying and accessing critical treatment, educational, and support services for their child(ren).
  • Connect children with early childhood agencies.
  • Monitor children while the parent attends clinical activity.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of signs of abuse and neglect, and reporting requirements and complete all case management for DCPP involved families.
  • Transport parent and/or child to necessary appointments as needed.
  • Develop and facilitate leisure activities and special events for children and/or families.
  • Complete accurate documentation of all records, incident reports, and other requirement materials.
  • Collect drug screen samples from adult parent where necessary.
  • Facilitate evidenced based psychoeducational groups.

Preferred Qualifications of a Children’s Coordinator:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Early Childhood Development, or a related field
  • A high school diploma and five years of documented experience in the provision of related services will be considered equivalent to the college education requirement

Specialized Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of childcare resources in the catchment area
  • Basic knowledge of key tenants of early childhood development
  • Knowledge of the childcare system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MS Word, Excel, and all major virtual and teleconference platforms
  • Cultural sensitivity

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. The work schedule for this position is as follows: Monday and Tuesday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Wednesday, 3:00 – 11:00 pm, Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Saturday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

Since 1968, Integrity House has provided comprehensive and compassionate addiction treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders.
