We are excited to announce our Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) opening in Toms River, NJ! The primary job function of the Certified Medical Assistant is to manage the day-to-day tasks required to ensure the office runs efficiently.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA):

  • Records medical history, current medications, treatments, and problem list accurately.
  • Obtains and records patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and reason for the visit.
  • Assist patients with completing essential paperwork and questionnaires.
  • Ensure all areas of care are well kept and meet the standards of the agency with a focus on the client experience. Practice proper infection control techniques.
  • Maintaining and updating client information in the electronic healthcare record.
  • Cross-trained to perform front desk reception duties as needed, including but not limited to patient registration, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
  • Coordinate with external medical providers to assist clients with ongoing care.
  • Register and verify patient’s insurances.
  • Collect copay, deductibles, copay, and co- ins upfront.
  • Answer phone calls and address client inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing information.
  • Any and all other tasks as assigned with respect to professional scope of practice and agency need.
  • Positive and welcoming attitude when dealing with patients.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a Medical Department

Required Licensing or Certifications:

  • CMA License
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License, required
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 9AM-5PM with at least one late night

Since 1968, Integrity House has provided comprehensive and compassionate addiction treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders. Physical/Medical Requirements: Before hire, candidates shall be required to show a negative TB skin test and positive titers for the MMR. Candidates will also be required to undergo SUD pre-boarding requirements, including drug testing, fingerprinting, and a physical exam.
