Integrity House, one of the largest nonprofit providers of substance use disorder and mental health treatment in the state of New Jersey, with services in Newark, Paramus, Secaucus, Morris Plains, Toms River, and Kearny, is pleased to announce that its Chief Clinical Officer, Eman Gibson, MBA, LCSW, LCADC, has been named by NJBIZ as one of their 2024 “40 Under 40.” Gibson will be recognized, along with the other honorees, on September 12th, 2024, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Somerset.
Each year, NJBIZ’s 40 Under 40 program recognizes 40 New Jersey professionals under the age of 40 for their accomplishments, work, leadership, and how they contribute to their industry and New Jersey as a whole.
Gibson’s leadership at Integrity House has been essential in implementing an Integrated Care treatment model to treat addiction as well as co-occurring issues that can worsen or are worsened by substance use. In addition, Gibson has been instrumental in opening Integrity House’s harm reduction center and the launch of its residential treatment program for pregnant & postpartum women. Gibson launched and oversees Integrity’s staff-led committee dedicated to ensuring inclusion, diversity, equity and access in areas of policy and practice. Gibson’s clinical expertise includes several certifications, including serving those impacted by trauma, substance use disorders, complex mental health needs, and behavioral health needs for service members, veterans and military friends and families.
Outside of Integrity House, Gibson continues her work advancing addiction treatment procedures to help those with a substance use disorder. Gibson serves on the Professional Advisory Committee for the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, where she Chairs the Harm Reduction Committee, and is a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Gibson is the vice-chair of the Addiction Practice Group within the New Jersey Association of Mental Health & Addiction Agencies (NJAMHAA).
In 2023, Gibson was selected to co-author the 4th edition of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, specifically the residential standards, which provide the national standards for conducting a comprehensive multidimensional assessment and determining the appropriate level of care for patients with a substance use disorder; these standards offer a model for the infrastructure of addiction care, including the types and intensity of treatment and the staff and services needed for each level of care. Additionally, she has been appointed to several ASAM committees and is one of the contributors for the upcoming release of the ASAM 4th edition Adolescent volume and a clinical considerations writing group. Gibson also serves as a Board member for the New Jersey Society of Addiction Medicine and holds the seat of Treasurer.
Gibson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and earned her Master of Business Administration from Fitchburg State University.
